Vintage-Style Poster Design Project

Create a vintage-inspired Movie, Music, Travel, Propaganda, or Advertisement poster using watercolour, paint markers, or pencil crayon or a combination. 

  • Your design must show intentional use of colour theory to set mood, attract attention, and strengthen the message of the poster.
  • Design includes visual elements common to the era/type (fonts, layout, illustration style).
  • Concept is clear, creative, and fits the chosen theme.

TO START - ROUGH DRAFT:

Students must submit:
  • A rough sketch showing layout, main imagery, and text placement.
  • A colour palette plan, including:
  • Notes showing where colour theory will be applied (ex: “analogous palette for harmony,” “complementary contrast for focal point”).
